All these kids that were substandard, I would kill myself to try to get them there, burning just so much energy on these people that didnt end up helping me much anyway, but I did transform them to a small degree. And Id love to tell you something differently, but I just dont have an effective tool yet. They have to get a sense of their relationship with you that you appreciate the fact they are different. I didnt think there was a coach in the world that I couldnt play for. So tell us, how do you convince some woman to transfer or to quit the team? Their parents love them out of this diluted feeling that, Im going to build my kids self-esteem by telling them how wonderful they are when theyre not. And now all of a sudden, I have to deal with these kids. They have no standards because everything they do is remarkable. So, you know, we had this insipid, you know, core value about working hard, but theres nothing motivational about this core value of working hard because that inspires no one. Now if I say you are a leader, heres the way youre going to have to qualify. And then all of a sudden at the end of practice, and theyre following this protocol, a buzzer goes off and they go from one drill to the next. And so almost everything we present is done in ranking form. And so I go into the session, Im invited there with every one of my staff members. We play for each other.
